( CNN) - - San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds became baseball' s home run king Tuesday night, crushing career homer No.

756 to pass Hank Aaron. CNN. com asked readers for their take on Bonds and his historic chase. Below is a selection of their responses, some of which have been edited for length and clarity: Bryan Vliet of Ithaca, New York Aside from being a Dodger fan and a Giant hater, I do admire Bonds. First of all we are in America, where you are innocent until proven guilty. I applaud his stature during all of the turmoil around him; none of us could possibly function well enough day to day if we were being hounded and attacked everywhere we go.

Hate him or love him, Bonds is one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Records are meant to be broken. Terry Ross of Bethel, Vermont Sadly, he is an arrogant jerk. He has had the opportunity to be a historically memorable figure, but I' ll bet & quot; steroids& quot; is the first word anyone will ever associate with him. Admittedly, the media has done a number on him, but he should have risen above it.

Sue Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina No matter how long this record stands, it will always be connected to steroids. He will never be the home run king. Hank Aaron still holds the title to that honor.

He can deny it all he wants, but the asterisk is still there and always will be. Karl Wagner of Green Valley, Arizona It sickens me to think that this man' s name will now sit atop a list of such greats. I do not believe that he belongs anywhere on this list, and I do not believe that his name should be uttered in the same breath with such great players. I feel that Bonds and others have tainted the sport.

It is a sad day for me. Hank Aaron is the home run king in my eyes and still is until someone can beat him without an unfair advantage.

In my opinion the whole country has gone on a bend about the whole deal. He has been one of the greatest players in the history of American sports before this whole steroid scandal, and Barry has just proven that the country' s opinion does not matter to him. All that matters to him is achieving the best he can as a baseball player. Like or not, he is now king of the most treasured record in American sports; so enjoy it and keep your opinions to yourself.

Darryl Williams of St. Louis, Missouri I think his accomplishment is a great feat, and I wish certain media outlets and personnel would get off the issues of & quot; steroids and a tainted record. & quot; Whatever happened to the adage, & quot; In America, a person is innocent until proven guilty. & quot; As a fan of baseball, all I am interested in is enjoying & quot; The Game, & quot; but thanks to the media, that is a seemingly difficult task. I think the persecution of Mr. Bonds is a disgrace to the sport and an insult to true fans of baseball. Rod Burnette of Blairsville, Georgia As a lifelong Georgia resident, I guess it would be easy to say that I am biased.

But with that being said, I think Bonds' achievement, if you can call it that, is definitely tainted. As a skinny little kid with the Pirates, he did some great things. In fact it could be said that he performed very similar to Hank Aaron. Hank was also a solid all- around player, although most people only know him for his home run record.

However, Hank continued to play at the same level for his whole career, where Bonds somehow managed to double his production in his late 30s when players are starting on their decline if they have even managed to make it that far.

Barry Bonds is the new home run champ. But there will always be that stigma that will stick with that title. That he cheated. And everyone knows it. And Barry knows it as well.

So when he is cherishing his new title, it won' t be as sweet as guilt creeps in and clouds his consciousness. Perhaps one day when his body is broken down and the medical effects from steroids begin to plague him, he will do the right thing and admit he took steroids and help other athletes not make the same mistakes.

Dan Hammans of Irving, Texas I think that it' s obvious that Barry Bonds is/ was taking performance- enhancing drugs, stimulants and other foreign substances to attain the strength necessary to hit all those home runs.

It' s important to note that he has great skills, a great work ethic and is a gifted athlete. Despite everything he has done, he has still stepped behind the plate and hit all those home runs. You don' t do that without a mountain of natural talent and years of dedication to the game. People seem to think that it' s as easy as popping open a bottle and taking pills to gain that much muscle.

Thousands of hours in the gym are required just like anyone else. Terry Crandall of Hillsboro, Oregon You can' t compare Bonds to Aaron. Aaron was a professional in all senses of the word. For the most part, Aaron utilized his God- given skills to reach his goals.

Bonds will never attain the respect that Hank Aaron achieved during his career. Different times and different values. When you play for the money, the end justifies the means. We should be ashamed at what & quot; professional& quot; athletes are paid today. The time of the sports & quot; heroes& quot; is pretty much gone.

William Olds of Albuquerque, New Mexico Barry Bonds is just a man who plays a game. All these people worked up about steroid use should go on and get a life. If the average person would just get up off the couch and put down the beer and pizza and actually train with real weights, cardio and eat six protein- based meals ( every two hours) they would be amazed at how their bodies would look and what they could do as well. Thomas Greene of Nashville, Tennessee I salute Barry Bonds and I was impressed with the Padre fans for their reception.

I am very weary of the naysayers.

He is not a cheater. It has to be against the rules of a game before someone can cheat. The problem ( only assuming he took steroids) was with the rules. . . . Who gets to decide what & quot; cheating& quot; is OK and what is not? Glenn Field of Foxboro, Massachusetts In America, you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

If he' s proven guilty, then there should be an asterisk by his name in the record books. However, even so, it is a great feat that he has accomplished. He, like Pete Rose, should be allowed to enter the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown someday, even if it is with an asterisk as a caveat. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. Randy Ver Hagen of Queen Creek, Arizona Goodbye Major League Baseball.

While millions will continue to do so, I will no longer delude myself into believing that your records are legitimate and timeless. I am a juror in the court of public opinion where the burden of proof is simply that the accused is likely to have committed the crime. I render the following verdict. 1) Barry Bonds is guilty of willfully using banned substances.

2) Major League Baseball is guilty of indifference to their own rules that were designed to keep the playing field even. & quot; Be Like Barry& quot; is not a motto to live by.

His lesson is . . . break whatever rules you want, so long as you don' t get caught, officially.

So enjoy Barry, the fraternity is now all yours. Bruce Wolf of Portland, Oregon The press has ruined Barry Bonds. Heroes have to be likable to be heroes today. Baseball is a business, just a business. Since when do powerful businessmen or lawyers have to be likable to be recognized for their greatness?

As a child I watched Willie Mays play and dominate at the Polo Grounds.

He was the most likable young ballplayer of his era. Then as a young man I watched him ostracized and shunned for being a greeter at an Atlantic City casino.

The officials of Major League Baseball donned their tall, black hats and loaded their blunderbusses and played at being the Puritans that they want people to believe they are.

Shame on MLB. Now it' s Bonds' turn. When Bonds fails a drug test, then I will feel differently. Now I just wish I could hit a fastball like he does.

August De. Vico of Hillsborough, New Jersey No doubt Bonds will break the record. However, while a significant accomplishment, the record will always be tainted and empty.

Our hope can only be that this record will not stand for long. I suspect we will have to live with it for at least 10 years with Alex Rodriguez our only hope of an unblemished record.

Two questions remain: Can he ( A- Rod) stay healthy, and will I live that long? Arnold Mitchell of Montgomery, Alabama For most of Bonds' baseball career, he has been closed lips to the press. These kinds of acts will make the system promote you or demote you in the sports world. ( Jim Brown, Bill Russell, Carl Lewis, Hank Aaron and so on. ) I am a black American. If Bonds was white, what would be your reaction toward him?

Baseball Boss was there to watch [ Bonds' ] 755th home run, but kept his hands in his pants pockets. Reynaldo Valcarcel of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico Give me a break. Corked bats, doctoring baseballs by pitchers. Not to mention equipment and training has changed over the years. Nothing is sacred, but it' s always been baseball.

And hitting is concentration and hand- eye coordination. Tell me how steroids help you hit a round ball with a round bat, when the ball is spinning at 90 mph- plus. This is not track, and it' s not football. This is not a guy who used to hit singles and now hits 500 footers. Alec Krogg of Woodland Hills, California What Barry Bonds has done means nothing.

National applause for an individual who has hit over 755 home runs in his/ her own league is as common as Hank Aaron' s home run record being matched - - it' s never happened.

While Bonds plays in a different league, he surely fails to qualify to break Aaron' s record.

To do that he would have to be part of Aaron' s MLB. Bonds is not. While the league has changed, one constant feature that ties all MLB eras together would be the role of the individual and their natural ability to play the game.

Bonds plays by his own set of rules - - unnaturally and unapologetically. If we are concerned with Hank Aaron' s MLB record, then we should only consider those who play the game within its spirit. Aaron was a player of class and resilience. His record stills stands, unmatched.

Like many with childhood dreams of hitting an MLB home run, Bonds can still dream of another life where he could have broken Aaron' s record.

Alan Gregory of Whitefish, Montana Although Barry Bonds is a superb slugger, I think you are comparing apples and oranges when looking at him vs. Aaron. Look at the fundamental tools of baseball today: balls and bats. Both have changed significantly over the past 30 years.

Today the bats are specialized to allow a ball to go farther.

Also, in today' s game balls are replaced in the field as soon as they get one scuff mark ( and that is often after one pitch) . To hit 755 home runs in Aaron' s day was a much harder feat than today. Add those facts to the steroid abuse by Bonds, and I really can' t believe anyone is even considering Bonds to be the same class player and in the same league as Aaron.

John Tu of Mesa, Arizona Good for Barry.

I hope he hits 100 more. By the way, has it ever been proven he took steroids? All I have seen is stories from people who don' t like him, or they are trying to gain something?

Mark Puglisi of St. Louis, Missouri Baseball fans like myself have had to suffer through a chronic sense of malaise thanks to Bonds. Hoping he' d just retire and go away, this season has been a painful one to watch. George Padavil of Bloomington, Illinois Bonds has always been regarded as one of the great baseball players. It is great that he is about to break the record.

Congratulations to great Bonds. There are people who think that he used steroids. It shouldn' t be a factor to deny his achievement. It is the skill that makes one a great player, not steroids.

One could be taking any amount of steroids and still be a lousy player. Give him the honor he has earned.

Thanks for your question. Many kids are concerned about their size and I hear comments like this often.

Since being 5 feet tall at your age is in the normal range, my first instinct is to say that there is nothing wrong with your height at all.

Without knowing more about your past growth, family background, medical conditions, etc. , it' s not possible to give details but here is some information that I can provide. A person' s height is largely determined by genetics, especially how tall your parents and grandparents are and how tall people of a similar genetic background are. In the United States, the average adult height for men is about 5 feet 9. 5 inches, but this number differs widely in different countries - - for example, 5 feet 5 inches in India and about 6 feet in the Netherlands.

One way to estimate a person' s adult height is to determine what' s called the mid- parental height. For a quick rough calculation, take an average of both parents' heights and add 1 inch ( 2. 5 centimeters) for boys or subtract 1 inch for girls.

A person' s final height is expected to be within about 2 inches ( 5 centimeters) below or above the mid- parental height number. A height of 5 feet is at the for 14- year- old boys, meaning that out of a group of 100 boys who are your same age, you would be taller than about 10 of them. ( If you are closer to 15 years old, this percentile would be slightly lower. ) Short stature is defined as being less than two standard deviations ( about the third percentile) below average for age and gender. For 14- year- old boys, being less than about 58 inches is considered short stature. Keep in mind that there are many people who have a growth spurt later in life ( such as after high school) and it' s possible to continue growing until one' s late teens or mid- twenties. Again, your family' s growth patterns will affect whether you follow the typical growth curve or peak relatively early or relatively late.

If you have more questions about your height, please consult with your pediatrician and possibly a pediatric endocrinologist, as it may be necessary to rule out medical problems such as digestive issues, heart problems or low thyroid or growth hormone levels. Treating any medical conditions that exist can help and, when appropriate, growth hormone injections can increase a person' s ultimate height if started before puberty. Good luck!

Hi, Dan.

Let me start by saying that I' m a chocolate lover too, and for me, a life without chocolate just wouldn' t be quite as wonderful. Your question brings up two important points. First of all, although chocolate is by no means a health food, and eating too much of it can lead to weight gain, chocolate ( in moderation) has actually been shown to have a beneficial effect on blood pressure, heart health, insulin resistance and even dental health.

Most of these benefits are likely due to the potent plant- based antioxidants called flavonols, which are present in chocolate, especially in dark chocolate that contains at least 70 percent cocoa. ( Milk chocolate has fewer flavonols; white chocolate has none. ) Second, depriving yourself of foods that you really love can lead to bingeing, which probably results in increased caloric intake and weight gain over the long run. So if you really love chocolate, there is nothing wrong from either a health or diet standpoint with including a small portion in your diet on a regular basis. The most important point is to keep portions under control by buying single- serving bars if possible or breaking off a serving and putting the rest of the bar out of sight so you are not tempted to eat more than one serving.

One trick I suggest to patients if they find it difficult to stop after one serving is to chew a piece of mint or cinnamon gum after eating tempting foods to get the taste out of their mouth or make subsequent servings less tasty.

WASHINGTON ( CNN) - - Hillary Clinton was sworn in as the 67th U. S. secretary of state Wednesday afternoon after the Senate approved her nomination by a vote of 94- 2. Former President Clinton and her Senate staff looked on as Clinton' s childhood friend and D. Court of Appeals Associate Judge Kathryn Oberly swore her in on a Bible belonging to the former first lady' s late father in a ceremony in her Senate office.

The senators who opposed Clinton' s confirmation were Jim De. Mint, R- South Carolina, and David Vitter, R- Louisiana.

Keeping with tradition, America' s new chief diplomat will be treated to a welcoming ceremony with employees Thursday morning in the State Department, agency officials said. Immediately after the ceremony, Clinton submitted her resignation from the Senate with identical one- sentence letters to Vice President Joe Biden, who serves as president of the Senate, Secretary of the Senate Nancy Erickson and New York Gov. David Paterson.

Paterson must appoint a replacement in the Senate. The governor, who had said he would not name his choice until after Clinton' s confirmation, told CNN' s & quot; American Morning& quot; on Monday that he had not made a decision. & quot; I' m actually, I think, narrowing the field to about half of the people who are involved, and then I would hope, in the next few days, to get down to one, & quot; he told CNN' s John Roberts.

Some of the better- known candidates, including Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi and U. Reps. Carolyn Maloney and Steve Israel, have pledged not to wage a primary fight against Paterson' s pick in the 2010 special election to finish the final two years of Clinton' s term. Clinton' s confirmation was held up Tuesday when Texas Republican Sen.

John Cornyn objected to a voice vote, demanding a roll- call vote instead. Cornyn said he knew that would be confirmed but said he delayed the vote because he wanted more time to talk about the foundation run by her husband. The former president signed an agreement with the Obama transition team pledging to limit foreign donations and to release annual disclosures of new donations to his foundation. & quot; My concern is not whether our colleague Sen. Clinton is qualified to be secretary of state or not. She is, & quot; said. & quot; But we should not let our respect for Sen.

Clinton or our admiration for the many good works of the Clinton Foundation blind us to the danger of perceived conflicts of interest caused by the [ foundation' s] solicitation of hundreds of millions of dollars from foreign and some domestic sources, & quot; he said. & quot; The perception and reality must be that the office of secretary of state is viewed around the world as beyond reproach. & quot; Clinton was defended by Sen.

John Mc. Cain, R- Arizona, who used his first floor speech since the end of the presidential campaign to urge his colleagues to confirm her quickly as secretary of state. & quot; I think the message that the American people are sending us now is they want us to work together and get to work, & quot; Mc. Cain said. & quot; I think we ought to let Sen.

Clinton, who is obviously qualified and obviously will serve, get to work immediately. & quot; Mc.

Cain confidantes told CNN that the senator developed a genuinely deep admiration for Clinton during the drawn- out Democratic primary process. Both senators also sit on the Armed Services Committee and had become close on several congressional delegation trips abroad. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 16- 1 last week in favor of Clinton' s nomination, with Vitter casting the sole dissenting vote. CNN' s Dana Bash, Ed Hornick and Elise Labott contributed to this report.

( CNN) - - The last question posed to the eight Democratic candidates at Sunday night' s debate came from Ivy Merrill, a substitute elementary school teacher. She asked, & quot; Given that the circumstances in this country and in our world were essentially the same when you take office, what would be your top priority for your first 100 days? & quot; John Edwards answered first.

As the time for the broadcast ran out, moderator Wolf Blitzer kept the other candidates' answers short so all would have a chance to answer. John Edwards: & quot; To travel the world - - re- establish America' s moral authority in the world - - which I think is absolutely crucial.

The other things become less important and subservient. & quot; We have huge issues here at home. We' ve talked about some of them tonight: energy, global warming, what we do about the issue of health care in America, the poor - - which we haven' t talked about, unfortunately. & quot; But, the single greatest responsibility of the next president is to travel the world, speak to the world about what real American values are - - equality, diversity - - and to lead an effort by America to re- establish our alliances around the world, which is going to require time and focus. & quot; And then, third, to lead in taking action that demonstrates that America is strong but that America is also moral and just. And we' re going to help other people in the world and we' re going to demonstrate our commitment to humanity. & quot; All those things are crucial to re- establishing our moral authority. & quot; Hillary Clinton: & quot; Well, if President Bush has not ended the war in Iraq, to bring our troops home.

That would be the very first thing that I would do. & quot; Barack Obama: & quot; That would be the number one priority, assuming nothing has changed.

The second priority is getting moving on health care because that' s something that we can get done, I think, very quickly. & quot; Bill Richardson: & quot; Nobody' s talked about your [ Ivy Merrill' s] profession, education. & quot; I would upgrade our schools. I would have preschool for every American, full- day kindergarten. I would pay our teachers what they deserve. I' d have a minimum wage for our teachers, $ 40, 000.

I did that in New Mexico. We went from 49th to 29th. & quot; I would bring science and math academies to get America more competitive.

I would emphasize the arts. I would emphasize civics. Again, science and math. I would have universal education available for every American. & quot; Joseph Biden: & quot; I would end the war in Iraq and immediately move to defuse the possible war in Iran and immediately defuse what' s going on on the Korean Peninsula. & quot; They' re the three most important things that the next president is going to have to deal with. & quot; And by the way, when power is handed from this president to the next, the next president is going to be left with no margin for error. They' d better be smarter than their advisers. & quot; Dennis Kucinich: & quot; Keep in mind, we could stop that war in Iraq now by not providing any funding. & quot; But what I intend to do is to be a president who helps to reshape the world for peace - - to work with all the leaders of the world in getting rid of all nuclear weapons, rejecting policies that create war as an instrument of diplomacy, making sure that we cause the nations of the world to come together for fair trade, cancel NAFTA, cancel the WTO, go back to bilateral trade conditioned on workers' rights and human rights, create a not- for- profit health care system and send the bill to Congress. & quot; Mike Gravel: & quot; Top priority is to turn to these people and say they are part of the leadership right now in the Congress.

They could end the war if they want to. All they' ve got to do is show the leadership. & quot; Chris Dodd: & quot; Well, I' d try to restore the constitutional rights in our country. This administration has done great damage to them. I would do that on the first day. I wouldn' t wait 100 days on those issues. & quot;

Antisocial personality disorder is notoriously difficult to treat. People with this disorder may not even want treatment or think they need treatment. But because antisocial personality disorder is essentially a way of being, rather than a curable condition, affected people are likely to need close, long- term care and follow- up. People with antisocial personality disorder may also need treatment for other conditions, such as depression, anxiety or thyroid disorders.

Medical and mental health providers with experience treating antisocial personality disorder and commonly associated conditions are most likely to be helpful. Several treatments are available for antisocial personality disorder. They include: The best treatment or combination of treatments depends on each person' s particular situation and severity of symptoms. Psychotherapy is the main way to treat antisocial personality disorder.

Psychotherapy is a general term for the process of treating a condition by talking about it with a mental health provider. Cognitive behavioral therapy. This type of therapy helps to uncover unhealthy, negative beliefs and behaviors and replace them with healthy, positive ones.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach aims to raise awareness of unconscious thoughts and behaviors and & mdash; by bringing them to light & mdash; change their negative impact.

Psychoeducation. This education- based therapy teaches about all aspects of a condition, including treatments, coping strategies and problem- solving skills. Psychotherapy may be provided in individual sessions, in group therapy, or in sessions that include family or even friends. The right type of psychotherapy depends on each person' s individual situation.

If you have a loved one with antisocial personality disorder, it' s critical that you also get help for yourself.

Mental health professionals with experience managing this condition can help teach you skills to protect yourself from the aggression, violence and anger common to antisocial personality disorder.

They can also recommend strategies for coping. Ask the people on your loved one' s treatment team for a referral. They may also be able to recommend support groups for families and friends affected by antisocial personality disorder. There are no medications specifically approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat antisocial personality disorder.

However, several types of psychiatric medications may help with certain conditions sometimes associated with antisocial personality disorder: Antidepressant medications. Antidepressants may help improve depressed mood, anger, impulsivity, irritability or hopelessness. Mood- stabilizing medications.

As their name suggests, mood stabilizers can help even out mood swings or reduce irritability, impulsivity and aggression. Anti- anxiety medications. These may help with anxiety, agitation or insomnia.

But in some cases, they can increase impulsive behavior.

Antipsychotic medications. Also called neuroleptics, these may be helpful if symptoms include losing touch with reality ( psychosis) or, in some cases, anxiety or anger problems are present. In some cases, antisocial personality disorder symptoms may be so severe that psychiatric hospitalization is required. Psychiatric hospitalization is generally recommended only when people aren' t able to care for themselves properly or are in immediate danger of harming themselves or someone else.

Psychiatric hospitalization options include 24- hour inpatient care, partial or day hospitalization, or residential treatment, which offers a supportive place to live. & copy; 1998- 2011 Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research ( MFMER) .

" Echoed it is accompanied by driving drum rhythms of the old town. Led by the Brazilian company the city band Dachau, the carnival rolled for nearly two hours up the mountain. Dachau thousands lined the streets and crowded the town square to witness the climax of the carnival time in Dachau. The atmosphere was amazing, was for some Zugteilnehmer in the truest sense of the word, because the alcohol awarded significantly in spite of all regulations of the Zugteilnehmern. " Yes Yes N atom, nuclear power no thanks" was the motto of an association.

The volume of the music was not always being throttled properly. One group of participants was not large enough, the fun factor: She fears the carnival will be driven because of the long runs in the death and carried him to " rest in peace" to the grave. By no means ruled grave mood.

41 cars and Fugruppen from Dachau and the region were mainly decorated with motifs carnival.

Political issues were there also: Help, Hartz IV, the abolition of conscription and Olympic bids. Moreover, the motives were mixed colorful. Hippies ( Deutenhausen) , facing big- game hunter ( Carnival group United Berghofen) and willing ladies of the red light district ( boys club mountain churches) , Feldgeding cons of Mowgli from the Jungle Book and farm animals, Viking iron Mayrhofen to the Romans of the Fire Department Dachau, Egyptians imported Sphinx ( Ampermoching) in Chinese ( Gnding) and Knight ( Lower Roth) . Incense moved by the Konrad- Adenauer- Strasse, when the pope in the popemobile standing greeted the crowd.

The first place of the shooting club Frischauf Grassl finger was considered. His motto to the euro rescue package was formulated dramatically: " If the euro for the A. . . ? " The car was enthroned Chancellor Angela Merkel, a grinning clown pushes pieces to the bare backside and the Fugruppe in colors of the European flag distributed euro notes to the audience. Second place went the carnival with her friends iron Hofen gloomy Viking ship.

At least as impressive but the car was the pirates from Webling / Gnding. The " ruler of the seas" went on a sailing ship through the old town. The fairy tale about " Snow White" the Sigmertshausner was named the third prize.

At the most original was published to the jury the " Olympic Bid 2018" of the 1st FC Buselgeilach. The football club, by an alpine mountains with ski jump, including skiers. The most beautiful Fugruppe the jury was " Cindy and the Frogs" by Cornelia HEEF. been led up the garden path was the organizing of the carnival association " Key Club" .

The newly opened catering company sent a black stretch limousine, distributed from the nuns promotional handouts. The self- promotion would actually not be tolerated on the move, said the first president Erik Stoehr.

The inquiry, however, they had known of the local r still nothing. Similarly, the carnival patrons holds with local political messages, and youre willing to give here a Lustigkeitsfaktor. Otherwise you could just protest at the move against any unpopular decision of the City Council, such Sthr. That is what Elisabeth Schilhabel but with their BI Fugruppe that led a " table execution" for cut trees with it.

Schilhabel takes itself but apparently not very seriously, because they had a sign in front of the chest: " I am a clown and collect moments.

A special prize went to the samba group. It made after the move before the Schranne still a good atmosphere. ( Sch)
